Our Commitment to Privacy

At OpsCanvas, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services.

Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us when you create an account, use our services, or communicate with us. This may include your name, email address, company information, and usage data.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services, communicate with you, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. OpsCanvas MCP (Operator) runs on your computer, and your cloud data is never transmitted to OpsCanvas infrastructure. The section below describes exactly how it handles your data.

OpsCanvas MCP (Operator)

How OpsCanvas MCP handles your data

OpsCanvas MCP, also called the Operator edition, is software you install on your own computer from npm (package @opscanvas/opscanvas). It runs as an MCP server and a background process on that computer and connects to the AI tools you choose to register it with. This section applies to that software.

Information we collect. To use OpsCanvas MCP you create an OpsCanvas account. We collect the account information you provide, such as your name, email address, and company. We do not collect your cloud data, your cloud credentials, the contents of your Cloud Intelligence Graph, the code in your repositories, or the questions you ask your AI tool.

Your cloud credentials. OpsCanvas MCP uses the cloud identities you choose during setup, in place, on your computer. It reads through the access those identities already have. OpsCanvas does not collect, store, or transmit your credentials.

Where your data is stored. The Cloud Intelligence Graph and related OpsCanvas data are built and stored on your computer, in your user profile: on macOS in ~/Library/Application Support/opscanvas/operator, on Linux in $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/opscanvas/operator (or ~/.config/opscanvas/operator), and on Windows in %LOCALAPPDATA%\opscanvas\operator. Nothing from that directory is uploaded to OpsCanvas.

Third-party sharing. OpsCanvas does not send your cloud data to OpsCanvas or to any third party. When you ask a question in your AI tool (for example Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor), OpsCanvas MCP returns the answer to that tool on your computer, and that tool's provider receives it under the provider's own terms and privacy policy. You choose which AI tools OpsCanvas is registered with.

Software downloads. The first time you run the opscanvas command, it downloads the one program file your computer needs from packages.opscanvas.io and verifies it against a checksum included in the npm package before running it. That download request reaches our package server like any web request; it does not include your cloud data.

Usage data. The opscanvas launcher does not send usage telemetry. Any product usage data the OpsCanvas background process sends, what it contains, and how to turn it off are described here before such data is collected.

Retention and deletion. Your local OpsCanvas data stays on your computer until you delete it. Running opscanvas uninstall unregisters OpsCanvas from your AI tools, stops and removes the background process, and removes downloaded program files, but deliberately keeps your data directory and prints its location. Delete that directory to erase the data. To delete your OpsCanvas account information, contact privacy@opscanvas.ai.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You may also object to or restrict certain processing of your data. To exercise these rights, please contact us at privacy@opscanvas.ai.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the 'Last updated' date.
